what type of copper is used for medical oxygen piping?
Be careful that there is no contamination inside the tubing when placed in service. A small amount of oil will explode when exposed to pure oxygen.

There are basically, 3 types of copper tube. Type M is for general use and has a thin tube wall and cannot be used for med gas. Med gas systems that require copper must be brazed and therefore require type L or K as they can take the stress of brazing. See the American Society of Sanitary Engineering standard 6000 at asse-plumbing.org for specs and requirements.
FYI – there are over 20 different kinds of copper tube.
