Once on the ground, it was clear that there was a car-sized hole in the fuselage. Australian-based Qantas ordered oxygen tanks on all of its Boeing 747-400s to be immediately inspected. The U-S Federal Aviation Administration had previously warned airlines to inspect oxygen cylinders on their planes. But a Qantas official says the oxygen system on the troubled aircraft appears to be different from the type that led to the F-A-A warning.DAVID COX, QANTAS HEAD OF ENGINEERING: “BOEING ADVISES THAT NO THEY HAVE NOT HAD ONE OF THEIR AIRCRAFT WITH AN OXYGEN TANK DISINTEGRATING. Yes Qantas did have fatal crashes in their early years – go look it up fuckface. All I am saying is that there is a big element of luck to Qantas not having any crashes this past 50 years plus many airlines operate far bigger fleets than Qantas,hence are more likely to have accidents.

But look at the great history they have. Every airline has to go through hard times, they’re just unlucky at this time. I was onboard a BKK-SYD flight a month ago and had to wait 5 hours on the aeroplane due to wires loose from the fuselage.
…and maybe it’s because all of their major services are done overseas now.
