HVAC Oxygen, Acetylene and Nitrogen tanks and Regulators

I demonstrate how to hook-up the regulators on an oxygen, acetylene and nitrogen tanks to get them ready to braze.

    heres a little tip …
    heres a little tip …
    like the good doc said, Acetelyene is very unstable, and it is possible for the following to happen. oxygen can get trapped in lines and when you open acetelyene it can cause a non spark flame or explosion. a quick easy thing to remeber :
    opening:
    A before O or It’ll BLOW
    closing
    O before A and you’ll be OK

    ALSO NEVER USE OIL ON YOUR THREADS, THROUGH YOUR LINES, OR ON YOUR VALVES UNDER HIGH VELOCITY OF AIR THEY CAN MICRO ATOMIZE AND CAUSE THE SAME SCENARIO AS ABOVE!

    here in australia ,when you put gauges on oxy and acety ,you screw them,one clockwise,another anticlockwise,so you cant mix them.Why your gauges look so old?

    Thanks. $225 isn’t any great pawn shop bargain. It doesn’t really matter what the tanks look like because you’ll always get different ones when you buy more oxygen and acetylene. Just make sure that the manifold gauges and torch is in good shape.

    A brand new torch and regulator set can run you about $120. The oxygen bottle will be about $80 and the acetylene bottle will be about $80, too. Also, a carrying case will cost about $40. That’s a grand total of $320. Something to think about.

    A small question, how much should I pay for a new set of oxiacetylene tanks?, cause a I saw a used ones but in very good conditions in a pawn shop and the price was $225, is that a good price? or can I get the new ones for almost the same price? “of course the little ones” thank you very much for your patient, God bless you
